Laterra Athey
LaTerra Athey is a parenting coach, IEP advocate, and founder of Mom Instructed, a coaching and education platform designed to support parents navigating co-parenting, special education, and the everyday challenges of raising kids in a complex world. She leads a beautifully blended family featuring six children and two active co-parenting dynamics—giving her a deeply personal understanding of the emotional and logistical layers families face.
LaTerra facilitates Supreme Court-mandated co-parenting education courses, provides one-on-one coaching for parents, and offers IEP/504 advocacy for those trying to ensure their children get the education they deserve. A proud member of COPAA (Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates), she works to bridge communication gaps—not only between parents, but also between families and the education system.
Her mission is to help families communicate better with one another and with their child’s school team, creating a more unified and supportive environment for the kids at the center.
